NATIONAL ANTHEM -
STEP 1: Talk to Mr. Loya if you are interested! :)  He can clarify any of the below details and instructions as needed.

Singing the national anthem is an honor, and singing the song of our country is necessary for such a monumental moment. Read below for more details.
PLEASE NOTE: You are allowed to audition for the Anthem and the Solo Song, but you can not get picked for both.
Even though the audition is virtual you will be performing live during graduation. :)

Instructions - Record yourself (with video and audio) from your Chromebook or phone performing (singing with your voice or playing your instrument). When you record through your Chromebook, it will not upload to your Google Drive automatically, so make sure to Upload it as a new file to your Google Drive. If you don't know how to do this, go to drive.google.com and click on the (+ new) button in the corner. A dropdown menu should appear for file upload, then attach the video file. Once it is uploaded, right click and click on share to add michael.loya@wjusd.org. You must share to michael.loya@wjusd.org to so that we receive the video to evaluate it. Process is the same with a phone, but you need to open the google drive app first instead of going to the website.

(Further details on how to upload are included with video link and link to list instructions.)

Requirements and eval criteria -  Before sharing Label File as "your first and last name/ANTHEM". At the start of recording, please state your name and that you will be singing the national anthem. No background tracks (acapella voice or instrument only.)

Students will be evaluated on:
  • accuracy (Right or wrong notes/ lyrics etc) ,
  • confidence/stage presence (Be confident, you got this!)
  • pitch (Do you stay in key?)
  • interpretation (Stay true to who you are, but do justice to our Anthem)
  • tempo (Do keep consistent with chosen beat aka don't rush or slow down too much)
  • clarity (Can you understand the words )
